The congress took place at Gaetano Pini Orthopedic Institute on 6 May 2016.

Although pediatric orthopedics has always favored closed reductions, the change in social conditions and the advent of new surgical techniques in pediatric orthopedics, now indicate new strategies.

The Congress on external fixation in the treatment of fractures in pediatric age has addressed the issue both as a treatment of choice and as a treatment in complications, with a comparison between different schools of thought and a focus on the treatment of achondroplasia.

In this context, prof. Nicola Portinaro spoke at the Auditorium of the Gaetano Pini Orthopedic Institute with a report on “Axial deviations in the paraparesis“.
